What can I expect in Austria ?
Austria is one of Europe’s greatest hunting countries, offering a wide range of species and top trophy quality. It is quiet and spaciou haven for the visitor who wants to experience the best of Europe. It is politically stable and hunters and other tourist are welcomed. You will be impressed with Austria magnificent natural beauty, the historic and traditional buildings, the culture and friendly nature of the Austrian people.

When is the best time to go on a hunting trip ?
Hunts during the prime hunting months of June through December. Red-deer, chamois and mouflon are best during August through October.

What are the accommodations like ?
While hunting on the hunting-lodge you’ll stay in a two-room guest appartement. Each room has two beds, a couch and has a private bathroom with toilet, shower with hot and cold running water. The rooms has phone, Sat-TV, radio and balcony.

What type of meals will be served ?
Meals are delicious and generally consist of beef or game cooked in a variety of ways. Homemade breads, fruits, will be available, as are local beers and wines. All spirits are available. Your hosts will do their best to avoid serving foods you do not like or accommodate any special dietary requirements.

What’s a typical hunting day like ?
When hunting you’ll be awakened early each morning by a member of the staff. After dressing you will join your breakfast, after which you will load into the hunting vehicle and begin the day’s hunt.
A variety of hunting methods will be used, stalking on foot to get into a shooting position, drive with the car. Some hunters will do most of their hunting from blinds or tree stands.
If you bag an animal in the morning you’ll probably return to the lodge for lunch, otherwise you’ll take the lunch in the field picnic-style. After them you will stalk or hunt and after them you return to the lodge.
You take a shower and relax around the fireplace in the dining room, to discuss the day’s success. Dinner is taken with the host family in the lodge.

What rifle should I take with me ?
We recommend that you take a rifle that you really can’t shoot well. The minimum caliber is 243 Win and 30/06 but 300 Win , 300 Rem , 7mm Magnum and 375 H&H are also possible. All this rifles are in the lodge available for hire also.
The most shots will be between 120 and 180 m.

What type of terrain will I be hunting in ?
The terrain consists mostly of woodland, mountains and hills.

Are the any “hidden” costs involved ?
No ! It is our intention to quote you an all-inclusive price in so far as is possible.

What are my options on taxidermy ?
A talented taxidermist is working for us many years. European-style mounts (bleached skull & horns on a wooden, hand-carved shield) and tanning of hides is less expensive. Shoulder mounts are also less expensive, but will require larger, heavier crates which add considerable shipping charges.

Do I need any special permits or licenses ?

will obtain all necessary hunting licenses and permits for you. 

What special health considerations are there in travelling to Austria ?
Remember to bring along any special medications that you require. A complete first-aid-kit will be available at all times during your hunt. 

Should I tip the professional hunter and staff ?
This is entirely at your discretion. The professional hunter provides a service, and if you are satisfied with that service and care to leave a gratuity or gift it will be very much appreciated.

What else is there to see and do in Austria ?
Austria is a fascinating country with a tradition from more as 1000 years and with hundreds of tourist attractions. The capital city Vienna, but Salzburg, Linz, Graz also are great places to sightsee shop and enjoy the nightlife. Your host-family will assist you in all wishes. 

How can my family or friends reach me in a case of emergency ?
Upon confirmation of your travel we will provide you with the addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail-addresses of your hosts and your professional hunter, so that your friends or relatives can contact you directly if necessary during your stay.

What should I take with me ?
Don’t over pack, all what you need is available. Film Guns and ammunition also.
